According to Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, great importance for Iranian soldiers and heroes is the character of heroism and the tradition of chivalry. They always protect their good and lasting name, honor, identity and dignity. In their battles, even against a covenant and cowardly enemy, they fight bravely and do not attack him suddenly and unknowingly and do not resort to ambush. In Shahnameh, night combat techniques and ambush rules are well explained in terms of its exact time, surveillance of the area and necessary patrols, experienced and warlike people and related measures. Also, the ways to deal with the ambush, such as placing observers, sending vanguard, ambushing, digging ditches, deceiving, etc., have been beautifully drawn. At the same time, it has been pointed out that for the Iranians, ambush is not a good battle and is far from the ideology of heroism and the manners of chivalry. For this reason, the ambush is not carried out by the Iranians, and whatever it is, it is used by the Turonian and the enemies, all of which will fail with the vigilance and readiness of the heroic corps of Iran.
