The present review study was conducted to investigate the functions of cognitive sciences in militarism to answer the question of what functions cognitive sciences currently have in militarism. The main approach in cognition of the mind is to represent and calculate the subfields of cognitive sciences, which generally include cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, cognitive linguistics, philosophy of mind, and artificial intelligence. The research is a review method. The required information has been collected from authoritative books and articles by note taking. The research findings showed that cognitive sciences are looking for practical solutions to influence the thoughts and minds of commanders and soldiers of the hostile front and create deviations in their thoughts. In addition, the precise use of weapons and equipment, the avoidance of cognitive errors, and the use of cognitive instructions to increase the accuracy of military decisions in emergencies are areas in which cognitive sciences can make a significant contribution to defensive sciences. The general conclusion is that the applications of the cognitive sciences are not limited to a particular field; the interdisciplinary nature of cognitive sciences and the fact that it originated from different sciences, has led to a variety of applications, such as coping with environmental stress, medication interventions to change performance, improve behavioral and cognitive functions. Control of mind and behavior can be in the service of militarization.
