Nowadays, lack of information about the amount of individual’s knowledge is one of the organization’s problems. Effective knowledge management with focus on knowledgeable employees, enriched culture, infrastructures of appropriate technological information in accordance with characteristics of organization and proper organizational structures are useful means for solving organizational problems. In order to design knowledge management system and its deployment in the organization, it is necessary for managers to get enough familiarity with the nature of this management, its components and functions. It is also essential for them to pay attention to its successful backgrounds and to know how to interact with these factors. In this essay, we will, first, examine the definitions of knowledge management with of emphasis on military organizations. Then, we are going to deal with the phases of developing knowledge and the values developed through deploying knowledge management projects, its models, the basic factors of success in knowledge management projects and eventually the prerequisites of the management. The purpose is to enable the managers of organization to accomplish and to deploy this management through the help of related counselors and experts.
