According to Shahnameh, it is necessary and inevitable to preserve military preparation and to increase operational power of combatants. Thus, it portrays parades of arm forces in details Ferdossie believes that arm forces have to be equipped with modern weapons and equipment. He asserts that combatants ought to indicate their creativity and capability for making new weapons. In Shahnameh, it is insisted on the formation of forces in battlefields. It describes the issue by using the terms such as front, flanks, rear, the right, the left and the main position. It asserts on preserving and choosing the strategic points. Shahnameh teaches commanders to avoid wars if possible and to give priority to negotiation. Yet, it reminds the warriors to keep secrets and defend the commander in chief and flag till they are alive.
