by : Dr . The history of military operations witnesses some cases of hydrological wars. The purpose of this war is to separate forces, cut communicative and logistic lines, surprise and to change the timetable of operations. The imposed war of Iraq against Iran and World Wars have indicated the use of hydrology in wars. In these wars, water has been utilized as a facilitating factor to overcome on enemies.
Riverine operation in Valfajr 8, the use of artificial flood in Mohram operation, and bombardment of Mohan and Adder Dams in Germany are some examples to show the role of hydrology in military operations. This study deals with the direct applications of hydrology in war specifically in imposed war of Iraq against Iran.
