Hoor areas have specific geography. These areas are swamps with sweet water, thick plants, and considerable extent. We appreciate the important role of Hoor – al Azim if we become aware of the fact that a lot of people have lived in this area throughout the history. They have a different style of life. Their food consists of fish, rice and milk of buffalo.
They build their homes with reeds. They survive through a struggle with a harsh environment. During imposed war, combatants follow the models of lives of natives and this factor enables them to stay in this area for a long time.
When Iraq regime dried these areas, thousands of Hoor residents obliged to leave the areas. This obligatory immigration endangered the experience of living in Hoor. Kheibar operation is a new experience for military operations in areas that have harsh environment like Hoor. The methods of fighting in similar areas are rooted in the style life of natives. The experience can be a good model for future defensive procedures
