Terrain plays a significant role in the success or failure of military operations. So, it is always a matter of concern to the armed forces. Besides the terrain relief, its nature effects the operations since it has a direct relation with resources (troops and equipment).
A large part of our country is composed of such deserts with different qualities. Climatic conditions such as wind and rain have various effects on these kinds of deserts. In this paper after describing different kinds of terrain, the effects of wind and rain of various terrains will be studied. Moreover, the effect of type of terrain in desert areas on military movements (Personnel and vehicle) are explained.
