One of the climatic environments in which humans are obliged to act in war is hot places. Fighting in such situations is far more difficult than cold or even polar places. Heat-stroke is a common effect in hot situations. It is regarded as an emergency case. An awareness of the factors forming the temperature and its interaction with humans is very important because man is a biomechanical engine consuming chemical energy (food).
Indeed, the body of human has a very complicated mechanism to adjust its internal temperature. Its center is localized in the Hypothalamus. This part of the brain keeps the temperature constant at 37ْْ
There are different ways to overcome the high temperature, or the environment and keep the combat power at a desired level in such conditions. Deviation from these standards of fighting with ordinary methods causes heat-stroke and reduces the combat power. So, it culminates in the failure of the struggle.
Generally speaking, the mechanism of activities in hot environment is guided and controlled in two different domains: Physiological and psychological. From a Physiological point of view, the defensive mechanism of the human body includes perspiration and the expansion of the skin reducing the temperature of human body. From a Psychological point of view one likes to go out from such hot environments.
The increase of the body temperature results in thermal stress, reduction of awareness, coma and ultimately death.
