Epic is regarded as the most ancient style of literature in the world. It is a long narrative poem about national and historical subjects. Sometimes, it merges with old myths and national or humanitarian causes that mirror the civilization of a nation or group. Beloved champions and heros in such poetry are ideal and great men who can realize the ideals of a nation. In fact, this kind of idealism motivates the nation to try to reach glory and human magnificence. Therefore, such epics represent a constant battle between truth and falsehood. This eternal, comprehensive and ideal epic is more important than other prominent works in the world. Hence, it influenced not only the Iranian poets but also those of other countries in the world. It always shines brightly in the country of poetry, literature and epic. The masterpiece of Ferdowsi is a fountainhead of poetry and culture. This paper discusses the above-mentioned issues in detail.
