Analyzing battle problems and defensive experiences in the military history of every nation may result in valuable achievements creating the stability and national hegemonic power. The present paper is based on information found in two important historic texts up to the early 7th century (A.H) named “ Siasat Nameh “and” Adab-ol-Harbe va Ashojaeh”
Tow major categories of military science i.e. war preparation and battle problems as well as tactics are mentioned in the two texts. Additionally, the significant military issues of this historic period are, to some extent, explained. These explanations are the fruit of the past experiences and they have been effective and useful in the subsequent periods of Iran’s military history. The problems are mentioned as follows:
-Scrutinizing the properties of the militants.
- National Army
- The needs of the militants.
- The acquaintance with arms and war equipment.
- Reviewing and establishing encampments.
- Military posture.
- Dispatching intelligence elements.
- To surprise the enemy by night and to ambush.
- Selecting the battle field.
- Values of fighting.
