In the Islamic doctrine, it is believed that holy objectives and causes are realizable only under the sovereignty of Moslems Vali Amr (religious leader). The beliefs, faiths, and esteemed values of individuals create a motivation encouraging them to acquire their true identity. Eventually, this identity manifests their abilities and special behaviors practically. This type of behavior in the security is referred to as defensive culture expresses the diverse ways of human’s behaviors that must be considered as an example for all humans. In other words, the defensive culture is the consequence of the defensive identity of the individuals.
This paper seeks to harmonize tactics with defensive considerations. To do so, Imam Ali's recommendations to his followers and commanders will be presented. At the end, the applications of these recommendations to modern wars will be demonstrated.
