The awareness of the personnel and managers of their scope of power and responsibilities as well as the regulations concerning them is one of the best ways to prevent the commission of offenses. The law of the penalties of the armed forces was ratified by the Islamic Consultative Assembly at the end of
1382(A.H) and put into force in the courts. Because of
the amendment to the former law, especially in the case of replacement and mitigation of penalties, we try to make the personnel of the armed forces acquainted with the new version of this law by examining some common offenses. To do so, we compare the new law with the former one and with the law of Islamic Punishments.
