The purpose of the research is to investigate the relationship between mental preparation and combat shooting performance it was carried out through a descriptive-correlation method. The statistical population of the research was 280 students of the ranger course. 80 people were selected through available sampling. The research instrument was winter’s Psychological Preparation Assessment Questionnaire (SASI, 1991) for athletes, which had 60 items. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire calculated with Cronbach's alpha was 0.94. The data were analyzed with spss software. In this research, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov, simple correlation and Friedman tests were used. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between motivation and combat shooting performance; however, no significant relationship was found between other components of mental preparation with combat shooting performance. According to the results of the Friedman test and the chi-square value (78.951), it was found that there is a significant difference between the ranks of the psychological preparation components from the students' point of view. The self-confidence factor with an average of 4.60 was the highest and the concentration factor with an average of 2.72 was the lowest.
